My Secret Skill
Here’s your chance to get all of your skeletons out of the closet & tell all of cyberspace some of the really whacky stuff that you are good at that wouldn’t necessarily appear on your C.V. This post has been inspired by the advent of crazy T.V. shows that celebrate the incredibly ordinary & obscure for what they are.
I just know that you won’t want to go first so here are my humble offerings
Under the category of “don’t try this at home” I am known for a number of obscure things; the most famous being that I can fit the tops of most drinking glasses inside my lips. Conversly, I can also suction a drinking glass pretty much anywhere onto my face.
I am also quite good at quoting very obscure lines from films at random but perhaps my most obscure talent is being able to spot the driving errors of any driver within a 2 km radius of any car that I happen to be travelling in.
Feel free to dob yourself, or anyone else in for that matter….

Well my husband can guess what music he is listening to usually within the first bar or so. Very clever.
I don’t have much, I have a defect where I can’t bend my toes properly. They all just kind of move on one hinge in the middle!

You know how most people can roll their tongue, and it makes a nice, single little tunnel? Well, I can roll my tongue so that it has three rolls in it, and my current passtime when bored is seeing if I can get 5. I also used to be able to flare both nostrils, or either one on its own. However I am out of practicee on that one. (Can you imagine how I looked just then, sitting in the library staring into space trying to figure out if I could still flare my nostrils?)

I can pick where an actor from a movie has previously been in other movies. Its a skill I have had to perfect otherwise my darling wife will drive me crazy trying to figure out where they have seen the actor previously, right through the movie, hence we miss a lot of it.

Hey JDH that’s mine too, but not so secret and helped immensely by the IMDB! I also know voices of cartoon characters and the other characters they have done or which actor they are.

We watched ‘Blood diamond’ last long weekend (very very violent and sad) and in one of the opening scenes there are high powered politicians discussing the diamond trade around a large table. One of the actors was leading the discussion and without turning around to my wife I quickly said “First Wives Club” and she responded with a Thankyou as I knew it was going to bother her the whole movie.
